Our Progress

We are thrilled to share the progress made by the collaborative partnerships between The Lazarus Mission, Inc. (LMI), Endalewgeta Children’s Village (ECV), Le Mission Primary School, (LMPS) and Birhan Abri Church in Tulu Dimtu, Ethiopia. Together, we have been able to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the community members especially for orphaned and disabled children, economically disadvantaged families, and individuals facing food insecurity.

Endalewgeta Children’s Village and Le Mission Primary School

Endalewgeta Children’s Village (ECV) is a local not-for-profit organization that provides essential services to over 35 orphaned and disabled children. To ensure that all families, including the children served by ECV, had access to primary school, we partnered to improve the facilities and resources at Le Mission Primary School. In addition to making classrooms handicap-accessible, we expanded programs and services for over 120 students and families. Together we;

  • renovated classrooms

  • purchased new furniture and instructional equipment

  • supplied students with school uniforms and supplies

  • provided nutritious meals at school

  • extended healthcare services to children and their families

  • donated a new wheelchair for a disabled student

  • supported families in crisis with micro grants to purchase food and personal items

  • offered vocational and business training to women and mothers in the community, empowering them to increase their family income.

Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry at Birhan Abri Church

Birhan Abri Church is a resource for families in Tulu Dimtu, Ethiopia through their feeding program which addresses food insecurity within the community. Together with The Lazarus Mission, a food pantry and soup kitchen was established to provide nutritious meals and essential food staples to families to circumvent malnutrition.

This success was only possible through the support of our donors and dedicated staff in Ethiopia. We are immensely grateful and proud of the progress we have achieved together thus far, but our work is far from over. We are committed to scaling our impact and serving even more families in need through our plans for a more expansive Lazarus Mission Inc. Community Resource Center.
